Cold Milk
Cold milk can also help in treating various symptoms of puffy eyes. You can soak a cotton ball in cold milk and place it on the affected eye to reduce the swelling and irritation. This process can be repeated multiple times in a day to obtain best results.
Tea
Green tea or black? Both work well to soothe puffy, irritated eyes. The difference? Not much. Caffeinated teas help constrict blood vessels and reduce swelling, while herbal teas (especially chamomile) contain anti-irritants that soothe redness and inflammation. Steep 2 bags of your choice of tea in hot water for three to five minutes. Let cool until the bags are comfortably warm to the touch. Lie down, close your eyes, and place a tea bag over each eye; then cover with a soft cloth. During hot months, put the cooked tea bags in the refrigerator and apply to eyes when needed for a refreshing, eye-opening experience.
Cucumber
You can also place a slice of cucumber on the affected eye for a period of 10 – 15 minutes to obtain relief from the pain and swelling resulting from puffy eyes. It is important to wash your face with cold water after removing the slice for better results.
Egg White
You can beat some egg whites and apply them on the affected eye for a period of 15 – 20 minutes to reduce the swelling associated with puffy eyes. Egg white can also be mixed with witch hazel and applied on the eye to obtain effective results.
