Coconut Oil

Coconut oil mixed with camphor powder can be applied on the head to deal with the problem of lice. The mixture should be removed only after 90 minutes. You can use this remedy 3 to 4 times in a week in order to obtain effective results. Applying coconut oil containing the juice of fresh margosa leaves on a frequent basis can also help in removing lice within a short span of time.

Garlic Clove

You can create a mixture with the use of crushed garlic cloves and lemon juice. Massaging scalp with this mixture on a daily basis for a week can help in lice removal. This mixture should be kept applied for 4 to 5 hours to obtain quick results.

Onion Juice

You can apply and massage the scalp with onion juice for 15 to 20 minutes. The juice should be removed with warm water after 3 to 4 hours (of the application).


You can apply mayonnaise all over the head at night and cover the head with a shower cap. Washing hair with cold water in the morning can help in lice removal. This process should be repeated for a period of 4 to 5 days for best results.


You can rub vinegar directly on the scalp and remove it after 2 hours with cold water. It is important to use this remedy for 3 to 4 days to treat various symptoms associated with the problem of lice.


You can massage the scalp with apple pulp for 30 to 45 minutes and thereafter wash your hair with warm water to treat the problem of lice. You can apply apple pulp on every alternate day for best results.


You can prepare a mixture of olive oil (3 tablespoons), tea tree oil (1 tablespoon) and eucalyptus oil (1 tablespoon) and apply this mixture on the scalp. It is important to cover the head with a plastic cap for 30 to 45 minutes after applying the mixture. Regular use of this home remedy can help in removing lice. Thyme oil mixed with ginger root oil can also be applied to obtain the desired results.
