Shingles or Herpes Zoster is a viral disease of the skin caused by the virus Varicella Zoster. The symptoms are characterised by painful blisters that are filled with pus that appear in various parts of the body, along with accompanying symptoms like fever, headache, stomach pain and itching. Natural Treatments For Shingles
Green tea has anti viral properties that can help treat shingles. Taking green tea several times a day will retract the viral action and reduce the healing time of shingles. Since green tea is a stress buster as well, it plays a great role in preventing further attacks of varicella virus as shingles can be triggered due to stress as well. Take green tea 4 times a day to keep away from stress and shingles.
2. Apple Cider Vinegar
For internal consumption, take two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and add a cup of water to it. This must be taken once a day. For topical application, take undiluted apple cider vinegar. Soak a cotton ball and apply on the shingles affected skin. Apple cider vinegar masks the pain and reduces the viral action, thereby helping the shingles to clear away fast.
Honey is a gentle healing agent for treating shingles. Honey will heal the skin slowly with constant application and also keep the skin moisturised and free from scars as the blisters recede and fade away. Apply honey as often as needed and also along with other natural treatment methods for better results. Also, make sure that you use organic honey to prevent irritation on the skin.
4. Coconut Oil
The anti inflammatory and anti viral properties of coconut oil can be used for treating shingles affected skin. Take virgin coconut oil and apply on the skin affected with shingles. Apply as often as required until the shingles is completely removed from the skin. Application of coconut oil will also protect the skin from damage and scars that may appear due to the shingles.
5. Aloe Vera and Cayenne Pepper

Mix equal quantities of aloe vera and cayenne pepper and apply on the skin affected by shingles. Be prepared for some intense stinging on the skin as cayenne pepper is very hot.
