Acne is a skin condition that is associated with the development of pimples all over the face, back as well as the neck. This skin condition is known to occur as a result of the inflammation of the sebaceous glands that are present in the skin

This condition is mostly known to occur during puberty as a result of hormonal changes that take place inside the body. There are many natural remedies that have proven to be effective in reducing acne. Listed below are some of the herbs that are effective in treating acne.

Herbal Remedies For Acne

Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe Vera Gel is widely used because of the amazing healing properties it possesses. Aloe Vera Gel is known to be beneficial in reducing the redness as well as treating acne. Tea Tree

According to a several research studies conducted on the effectiveness of tea tree oil in comparison to benzoyl peroxide in treating acne, it has been pointed out that the use of tea tree oil is just as effective as benzoyl peroxide, which is a compound that is used in the treatment of acne. It was also found out that tea tree is slower in treating acne as compared to benzoyl peroxide; however, it does not cause any major side-effects as compared to benzoyl peroxide. According to health experts, using tea tree oil is helpful in reducing inflammation as well as bacteria that is associated with acne. Skin Irritation is a common side-effect experienced as a result of using tea tree oil. Several health experts have suggested that you should not use this herbal remedy to treat conditions such as rosacea.

Baking Soda

This is my absolute favorite natural remedy for acne! Surprisingly, I only discovered baking soda masks a couple of years ago, and oh boy, is this stuff powerful at clearing skin! Baking soda not only helps eliminate breakouts and reduces inflammation, it is also an exfoliator and helps remove dead skin cells! Because of this, it also works great to reduce any old scars or acne marks. To use it, just take a few teaspoons of baking soda and mix it with warm water until it forms a paste. Apply the paste to your skin. You may want to leave it on for only 10 to 15 minutes the first few times as it may feel powerful. You can gradually increase the time up to an hour or even leave it on overnight (which is what I do). After one use you can see a great difference in your skin.

Goldenseal

Goldenseal is a used as a folk remedy in order to treat acne, however, it is mostly used in cases when the acne oozes and bleeds. This is due to the fact that goldenseal is known to possess anti-microbial properties. This herb is available in the form of a herbal supplement or as a tea.

Guggul

According to research studies, it has been stated that this herb is considered to be as effective as tetracycline, which is an antibiotic used in the treatment of acne. This herb has been used in the treatment of several health conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis. There are some mild side-effects that are associated with the usage of this herb and they include loose stools, mild nausea, burping, hiccups, as well as headaches.
