Some women don’t have any symptoms at first. They may not find out they have an ectopic pregnancy until an early scan shows the problem or they develop more serious symptoms later on.
Tubular pregnancy affects a small percentage of women every year. A pregnancy is termed tubular when the blastocyst fails to enter the uterus and implant on the uterine wall. Instead, the blastocyst attaches itself to the cervix, uterus, ovaries, abdomen or in the fallopian tubes and grows there.
Tubular pregnancy can be a tricky affair as it cannot be recognised in the early stages. It is only when the mass of tissue that grows inside and exerts pressure on the surrounding areas that women are met with certain definite symptoms that cause them a lot of discomfort.
It is mostly in the seventh week that the symptoms become more obvious and women understand that something is amiss. Here are the signs to watch out for if you suspect a tubular pregnancy. Tubular pregnancies can be fatal if the pregnancy ruptures inside the body causing internal bleeding and shock.
Signs Of A Tubular Pregnancy
Fainting and dizziness that are very frequent could mean that you have a tubular pregnancy. The fainting will be such that it does not subside with any natural remedy.
If there is extreme weakness and fainting along with severe abdominal cramps and vaginal bleeding, it is an emergency condition where the woman has a ruptured tubular pregnancy and internal bleeding.
Lower Abdominal Cramps
Cramps are a common symptom associated with many diseases. But when you have a tubular pregnancy, you will have abdominal cramps that are mostly located on one side of the pelvic region, wherever the mass has attached itself and is growing. The pain can be consistent and vary in degree based on your condition.
Low blood pressure will suffice once the internal bleeding starts. It is the low blood pressure that leads to fainting and weakness. If the condition is left untreated, it can lead to heavy loss of blood and even death.
Shoulder and Neck Pain
Ruptured tubular pregnancies will have symptoms that are concentrated in other areas of the body as well. Along with abdominal pain, women will also experience pain in the shoulders, jaws and neck. If such a condition occurs, immediate medical attention is required for the woman.
A cluster of mass which looks like a grape cluster would come out of the vagina along with severe abdominal cramps. If you notice this within seven , it is almost always a tubular pregnancy.
Women with a tubular pregnancy will always test positive for a pregnancy test. However, the hCG levels could be contradictory and the ultrasound will not show a growing foetus in the uterus and there will be absence of heartbeats as well in the baby.
