3 Tips To Get Rid Of Dry Skin Pimples

Dry Skin Pimples

Pimples or acne are generally believed to be associated with oily skin. Most of us presume that there must be excess oil in the skin due to which pimples have come up and look for the measures to make the skin dry. But the fact is that pimples can affect any type of skin, even dry skin.

Pimples break out due to clogged pores. When the skin becomes too dry, it becomes flaky and the skin cells begin to fall off and clog the pores, which allow more pimples to build up. Butdry skin pimples shouldn’t be treated with typicalacne treatment because they are very much drying.

Fortunately there are effective ways to treat dry skin pimples and that too, without using products that are harsh for your dry skin. Dry skin pimples are usually found in adults.

Treating pimples on dry skin is quite challenging. The best way is to prevent the skin from drying and stop the outbreak of pimples by following a beauty treatment routine on regular basis which includes cleansing, toning and moisturizing the skin. Most over-the-counter products for acne skin care are made usually for oily skin, and applying them on dry skin can irritate your skin and make it too dry.

Tips To Get Rid Of Dry Skin Pimples

Cleansing

Frequent washing with harsh cleansers and soaps can further irritate or dry your skin. Wash your face using mild alcohol free face wash or cleanser twice a day. Avoid using masks, astringents or facial scrubs. You can cleanse your skin by combining castor oil and olive oil.

You may find it irrational to use oil for cleansing the skin as oily skin is more prone to pimples; but when non-comedogenic oil bonds with clogging oils, it opens the pores by cleaning dirt and impurities and prevents acne. Mix ½ teaspoon olive oil with 1/4 tsp. castor oil and massage your face gently for few minutes.

Now dip a cloth in hot water and give your skin a hot compress using it. Hot compress will open the pores of your skin. Wipe out if any oil is left behind after compress.

Medications

Some gels, liquid medications and topical creams and lotions dry out the skin even more. So you need to be careful while selecting skin care product and medication for treating acne if you have dry skin. Avoid products containing benzoyl peroxide. It is a traditional medicated cream commonly used for treating acne pimples, but it can be too harsh for dry and sensitive skin.

Dermatologist recommends acne medication containing salicylic acid for clearing the clogged pores, when you have dry skin. Instead of benzoyl peroxide, use tea tree oil to prevent irritation, redness or drying of the skin as it is equally effective like benzoyl peroxide.

Tea tree oil is available in various drug stores in the form of cream or undiluted oil. Before using tea tree oil on the pimples, dilute the oil and with the help of cotton pads, apply few drops on the pimples.

Moisturizing

After cleansing andtreating the pimples with tea tree oil, moisturize your skin with an oil-free moisturizer.

Daily use of moisturizer is utterly necessary for hydrating the skin which will balance out oil in the skin and will help to reduce the frequent outbreak of pimples. To avoid scarring, never pick or pop the pimples, even if they cause irritation.
